DENVER – The Mets may never play another game.
For the second straight day and fourth time since Sunday, weather wiped out a scheduled game for the Mets. With snow in the forecast and cold temperatures, Friday’s Mets/Rockies game was postponed before either team even reported to Coors Field. The teams are now scheduled to play a doubleheader Saturday beginning at 5:10 p.m. Jacob deGrom and Joey Lucchesi are the Mets’ scheduled starting pitchers for the seven-inning games.
The Mets had their series finale against the Phillies rained out on Thursday. The teams were also washed out Monday, but played a doubleheader the following day. The awful weather week started Sunday for the Mets, with their game against the Marlins suspended in the first inning because of a downpour.
Also, the Mets had their opening three-game series in Washington postponed because of COVID-19 concerns, after Nationals players tested positive.
