TikTok theory about Bluey being a rainbow baby goes viral
TikTok user Michael, aka world.shaker, shared his theory that Bluey could possibly be a rainbow baby thanks to an episode that subtly discusses pregnancy loss.
“I want to share one of my Bluey theories and unfortunately it’s not a happy one. This theory is that Bluey is a rainbow baby,” Michael shares in the video.
During the episode titled ‘The Show’ in season two of the much-loved animated series, Bluey and her sister Bingo reenact scenes from their parents’ lives on Mother’s Day.
It shows Bingo holding a balloon underneath her top, pretending to be pregnant. But things take an unexpected turn when the balloon suddenly bursts and the ‘mum-to-be’ is suddenly faced with not having a baby inside her belly anymore.
Bluey and Bingo stand there shocked while dad Bandit immediately grabs Chilli’s hand to offer her some comfort over the distressing and very relatable scene.

The scene and the parents’ instant reaction, according to Michael, suggests that perhaps Bandit and Chilli experienced a miscarriage or stillbirth before welcoming Bluey to the world.
“Bandit’s first reaction is not to comfort their children, but to comfort his wife,” the TikTok user explains in the viral video. “Quite frankly I think the reason they weren’t so obvious about it is because there’s not really any great way to explain to a child what a miscarriage is,” he adds.
“It’s important to remember that Bluey has never been a show that shies away from difficult topics, especially through the lens of a child.
“But seeing as though Bluey is a parents’ show that kids happen to enjoy, I think it’s a little bit more obvious to the parents who are watching.”

But other fans said they didn’t think the spot was a “theory” as such, but rather an obvious topic for their older audience to relate to.
